The importance of corporate holiday ecards during tough times

Impressing customers has always been an important part of running a successful business. After all, as well as attracting new customers, it’s vital to keep existing ones and this means offering them impressive goods and services.

To help boost customer retention rates further, you might be keen to establish an effective rapport with consumers and greetings cards can play an important role in this. By sending these messages, you can show people that you value their custom and, in so doing, boost their loyalty.

Times have moved on

However, rather than opting for the old-fashioned approach of sending paper-based greetings through the post, it’s worth considering corporate holiday ecards.

Consumers are now much more environmentally aware than they used to be and, because of this, sending cards through the post can be a mistake. These items are increasingly seen as wasteful and unnecessary. In contrast, electronic versions are forward looking and eco-friendly.

More important than ever

Wooing customers with E cards may be more important now than ever before. Like a lot of firms, yours might be going through a lean patch. Economic conditions remain tough and thanks to depressed wages and rising living costs, consumers are feeling the squeeze. This may mean they are more reluctant to part with their cash for your goods and services.

Highlighting the pressures facing companies, a Lloyds TSB Spending Power Report released in March revealed that spending power among consumers fell back in February for the second month in a row. The firm suggested that there was a drop in spending power during the 28-day period of 1.1 per cent, leaving consumers with around £10 less to spend on non-essential goods.

Meanwhile, over half of the people polled (55 per cent) predicted that the chancellor’s Budget would leave them worse off.

Under pressure

Responding to the findings, Patrick Foley, chief economist at Lloyds TSB, said: “Household budgets remain under pressure. Growth in spending on essential items remains stubbornly high despite the weakness in the economy, with food and drink spending again the largest driver of the squeeze.”

He added: “The recent fall in the exchange rate is likely to add to pressures. Consumer spending is therefore likely to remain weak through the first half of 2013 at least, keeping recovery in the wider economy far from assured.”

Great value

Although boosting customer retention levels and maintaining a good relationship with the people who buy your goods and services may be hugely important to you, you might not be able to splash out lots of cash on PR initiatives.

Thankfully, you don’t have to. Here at eCO2 Greetings we offer top quality electronic holiday cards for business that could be ideal for your firm and that represent superb value for money too.
